Writer's Support Room - Getting Started

Lyle is in his 70th year, but he doesn't feel retired. He has the allusion that his days are fuller now than when he was young and raising kids. His little wife of many years (he robbed the cradle) had him submit an article he was originally asked only to help her with.

By her good hubby-buddy's description, Joany is that eternal child many would like to be. She is tiny and has red hair and freckles. Life is bubbly when Joany is around. She has a knack for injecting her bubbly, child-view into her poetry, stories, puzzles and her conversations. She must never, ever really grow up or something wonderful would be lost.

By her own description, Joany, who is called Yaya, spends her writing time in her Little Red Wagon, flying to outer-space and beyond. In fact, she is absolutely positive she's all grown-up, so ignore all of the above. Bad hubby-buddy!

A Writer's Gold Mine by Yaya

Imagine, if you can, a writer alone, without guidance or feedback to improve his or her skills. This solitary person swims against the current, struggling to pull together whatever information can be dug, scraped and borrowed from the nether-reaches of distant voices and hopeful possibilities. If only he or she could find like-minded companions, the effort wouldn't be so intense; would seem worthwhile. If only there were a place where other writers met… if only. Are you someone who fits the description of a writer, on your own? Although there are others with whom you can visit, there is no sharing that dream. Do you find yourself trying to live the dream, yet stumbling along without knowing where to turn for guidance? Wouldn't it be nice to have someplace where you could turn for direction?

Perhaps you've been writing for years, hoping that somehow, you would be discovered, yet knowing that such possibility is virtually nonexistent? And if not discovered by fate… then, how will your writer's voice be heard? Surely, there must be a place where someone with a dream can turn for answers. If only. Yes. Yes, there is just such a place. It’s called the Writer's Retreat and others like you are learning and growing there, every day. It’s a place where many writers support and encourage each other as they all strive to grow, improve and live the dream. In fact, some of those who wander the halls of the retreat have found the kind of support that took them all the way to the top. And you can, too.

It is said that, "No man is an island." We reach out to others to help direct us along the right path. If you know how to do something, do you leave your friends alone to fend for themselves? Of course not. You try to find the best way to share your information and make the road easier for those who follow.

So it is with the good people at Children's Writer's Retreat; everyone helps. "No man is an island." We stand together, lending aid and support where it is needed.

There is a goldmine, a wealth of information, in the Writer's Retreat. Each month, a different author visits, sharing tips and answering questions. Are you committed to writing? There are people on the boards who can help. Within the halls of the Writer's Retreat, you will find assistance, guidance and friendship. To take advantage of all that is available, just go to Children's Writer's Retreat at http://www.institutechildrenslit.net/index.php.
